Mildred “Millie” Bledsoe Norris

A well-loved Halls Community resident, Mildred “Millie” Bledsoe Norris, 88, passed away on March 22, 2023. Millie was a 1953 graduate of Halls High and was named “Best All-Around Student” her senior year. As a member of the marching band, she played the saxophone and was a majorette her senior year. Always heavily involved in the community, Millie could often be found serving others through the Halls High Alumni Association, Halls Food Pantry, Mobile Meals and Salem Baptist Church’s “Young at Hearts”. In 2006, the Halls Business and Professional Association honored her as their Woman of the Year. As a lifetime charter member of the Halls Crossroads Women’s League, she was named Volunteer of the Year in 2008, for working in the Clothes Closet. In 2018, she was inducted into the Halls High Alumni Hall of Fame and has been involved in other events that have poured support back into the community. More recently, Millie volunteered and supported the new Halls Crossroads Historical Museum Board. This project was dear to her heart because of her love for “Halls History”.  As part of her lasting legacy she requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Museum.
